CONWAY, S.C.- The Coastal Carolina men's soccer team defeated Limestone 2-0 in its first exhibition match of the preseason on Sunday, Aug. 16 in Conway, S.C.

Red-shirt junior Riley Phelps (Charleston, S.C./Starrs Mill (Ga.)) opened the scoring for the Chanticleers at 5:23 into the first period with an 18-yard goal that slipped through the fingers of Limestone goalie Mark Davidson.

Coastal Carolina finished scoring on the day sophomore Gray Phelps (Charleston, S.C./Starrs Mill (Ga.)) scored at the 27:35 mark of the first period on a penalty kick. Coastal Carolina outshot Limestone 10-5 and had four shots on goal. Riley Phelps led the Chants with three shots on the day. Transfer goalkeeper Taylor Kelliher (Prospect Heights, Ill./University of Illinois-Chicago) earned the shut out with two saves on the day.

The Chanticleers will continue the home exhibition play next Saturday, Aug. 22 against Campbell University. The match is set to start at 7 p.m.
