Volunteer Assistant Coach

Marcos Spanos will join the Chanticleers as a volunteer coach. He joins the CCU staff after spending last season at Quinnipiac while completing his master's degree. During his time with the Bobcats he helped the program with a historic 2016 regular season which saw Quinnipiac win seven straight conference games for the first time in program history.

The Bobcats finished 13-7 winning the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) and placing second at the MAAC Tournament.

As a player, Spanos played for Quinnipiac and played an integral part in the program's success during his four-year career in Hamden, Conn. He helped lead Quinnipiac to back-to-back regular season titles in 2013 and 2014, while also being a member of Quinnipiac's first NCAA Tournament team in 2013.

"Marcos is a very exciting addition to our staff," Docking said. "He is very competitive, passionate and brings a very good knowledge of coaching experience with him from Quinnipiac. He has developed very well into a thoughtful tactician and developer of players and will help us reach our goals of continuing to strive to win a NCAA Division I National Championship."
