DADE CITY, FLA. -- Coastal Carolina men's golf alumnus Dustin Johnson tied for third in the second stage of the PGA Tour Qualifying School, Nov. 14-17, and has advanced to the Final Stage of the three-stage event. Johnson competed at the Lake Jovita Country Club in Dade County, Fla.
Johnson was under-par in each of his four rounds of the Second Stage, firing scores of 69, 66, 70 and 68 for a four-round total of 15-under 273, one shot behind co-medalists Bubba Dickerson and Scott Parel.
The final stage will occur at Orange County National Golf Center and Lodge's Crooked Cat course (Par 72 - 7,277 yards) in Winter Garden, Fla., Nov. 28-Dec. 3. The final stage is a six-day, 108-hole event of approximately 156 players, with the top finishers earning their PGA Tour card for the 2008 season.
