Men's Golf Third After One Round of Landfall

WILMINGTON, NC – The Coastal Carolina University men’s golf team sits in third place after the opening round of the 2005 Landfall Tradition, Oct. 28. The 54-hole tournament, hosted by UNC Wilmington, is being played by at Country Club of Landfall’s Nicklaus Course in Wilmington, N.C.

The Chanticleers opened with a seven-over 295 and trail first round leader Tulsa by six shots. However, Coastal is just one shot behind Texas A&M in second. Minnesota is fourth at 296, while Virginia Commonwealth is in fifth at 297.

Coastal is led by junior Dustin Johnson and sophomore Zack Byrd, who each posted a one-over 73 to tie for ninth. Senior Moises Cobo is tied for 16th at 74, while sophomores Lindsay Renolds and Joachim Fourquet are tied for 28th at 75.

The second round of the event will be played tomorrow on the Nicklaus Course.
