Men's Golf Remains Tied for Second Through Second Round of Bank of Tennessee at The Ridges Invitational

JONESBOROUGH, TENN. – The Coastal Carolina University men’s golf team continued its strong play and is tied for second after 36 holes of The Bank of Tennessee at the Ridges Invitational, Oct. 25. Hosted by East Tennessee State, the three-day, 54-hole tournament is being played at The Ridges Country Club (Par 72 – 7,147 yards) in Jonesborough, Tenn.

The Chanticleers improved on their opening round 290 with an even-par 288 in the second 18 and are currently at 2-over 578, tied with host No. 33 East Tennessee State. No. 39 Wake Forest is the 36-hole leader after shooting a 3-under 285 in the second round to move to even-par 576. No. 36 Mississippi is fourth at 580. The tournament features eight teams ranked in the top 50 in the nation according to Golfstat.

The Chants are led by redshirt senior Zack Byrd and junior Dan Obremski, who are each at 3-under 141 through the first two rounds. Byrd posted his second straight under-par round with a 2-under 71, while Obremski had a 3-under 69. Sophomores Tripp McAllister and David Dannelly are tied for 31st at 148, while senior Cameron Hooper is tied for 48th at 151. North Carolina State’s Darren Blair is the 36-hole leader at 4-under 140.

Coastal Carolina will go off in the wave of the top teams with East Tennessee State and Wake Forest, starting on the No. 1 tee at 10:10 a.m.
