CONWAY - Coastal Carolina's Olle Widegren has been named the Big South co-Men's Golfer of the Week, the league announced today.

Widegren carded a 3-under par 141 over two rounds and tied for second at this week's Myrtle Beach National Invitational - hosted by Gardner-Webb on Myrtle Beach Nation's West Course. He tied for second along with Gardner-Webb's Elki Kow and Presbyterian's David Parker, each of whom shared this week's Big South Co-Golfer of the Week honors with Widegren.

The event marked Widegren's collegiate debut and the freshman shot par or better in both rounds. He turned in an opening-round 72 and was in 12th place after 18 holes. He then posted a 3-under 69 - tying for the lowest round of the day - to move up 10 spots to second.
