Men's Golfers Wrap Up Play in South Carolina Amateur

CLINTON, S.C. - The Coastal Carolina University golf team had four players make the cut to the final 36 holes and play all 72 holes at the 2008 South Carolina Amateur, Aug. 7-10, at Musgrove Mill Golf Club in Clinton, S.C.

After the 36-hole cut was at 7-over 151, junior-to-be Sam Lyons (Little River, S.C./North Myrtle Beach) finished the 72-hole event was the top Chanticleer in a tie for 16th at 3-over 291. Rising sophomores David Dannelly (Easley, S.C./Easley) and Tripp McAllister (Lake City, S.C./The Carolina Academy) tied for 38th at 9-over 297, while redshirt freshman Drew Ernst (Seneca, S.C./Seneca) was 59th at 14-over 302. Lee Palms of Greenville won the tournament at 5-under 283.
