Dan Ellis Joins Coastal Carolina Men's Golf Staff

Ellis comes to CCU after a successful collegiate career at Michigan State

CONWAY - Dan Ellis, who just completed a successful career at Michigan State, has been named Coastal Carolina assistant men's golf coach, Director of Golf Allen Terrell announced.

Ellis finished his career with a 75.0 scoring average to rank 11th on the Spartans' all-time list. He is one of four Spartans to be a two-time Cleveland Golf/Srixon All-America Scholar (2012 and '13), was a four-time Academic All-Big Ten honoree and was a 2012 PING All-Midwest Region selection.

As a junior, he led Michigan State with a 73.06 scoring average, which ranks ninth on the school's single-season list, while ranking second on the team in scoring average as a sophomore and senior.

Ellis finished fifth at the 2012 Big Ten Championship, earning All-Championship Team honors, and qualified for the NCAA Central Regional as an individual. In his final season at Michigan State, Ellis went 3-1 and led the Spartans to a runner-up finish at the Big Ten Match Play Championship.

A native of Nagaunee, Mich., Ellis graduated from Michigan State in 2013 with a degree in management.
