CONWAY - Sebastian Soderberg added to his impressive resume by earning Cleveland Golf/Srixon All-America Scholar honors for Division I as named by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA).
This marks the second time in as many opportunities Soderberg has earned the prestigious honor. To be eligible for the award, an individual must be a junior or senior academically, compete in at least three full years at the collegiate level, participate in 50-percent of his team's competitive rounds or compete in the NCAA Championships, have a stroke-average under 76.0 and maintain a minimum cumula¬tive grade-point average of 3.2. Soderberg has a 3.21 GPA in Exercise and Sports Science.
Soderberg, the 2013 Big South Golfer of the Year, ended his career this past spring by becoming the fourth Chanticleer to earn All-American honors, the third Chant to be a four-time All-Big South honoree and the second to be a three-time Academic All-Big South selection.
Soderberg posted the fourth-best CCU single-season scoring average (72.28) this past season, posting 10 top 10 finishes in 14 events with a win and three runner-up finishes. His career scoring average of 73.45 ranks third on the CCU all-time list behind Dustin Johnson (72.11) and Alvaro Velasco (72.77).
