NORMAN, Okla. -- Coastal Carolina University men's golf rising-senior Sam Lyons advanced out of the 156 players to the 64 in match play after the stroke play rounds at the Jimmie Austin OU Golf Club in Norman, Okla., July 13-14.

Lyons fired rounds of 72 and 73 on the par-71 home course of the University of Oklahoma golf team to post a 3-over 145 and tie for 19th in the stroke play. Lyons had five birdies, four bogeys and one double bogey in his first 18 holes and two birdies and four bogeys in his second round.

Lyons now moves on to the match play portion of the tournament in Match 12, playing Peter O'Neill of Carmel, Ind. in the Upper Bracket.
