Men's Golf's Johnson Finishes In a Tie For First But Falls In Playoff at Sahalee Championship

SAMMAMISH, WASH -- Coastal Carolina's Dustin Johnson (Lexington, S.C./Dutch Fork) shot a final round 72 to finish in a four-way tie for the lead and fell in the playoff at the 13th Sahalee Players Championship. The 72-hole tournament is being played at the Sahalle Country Club in Sammamish, Wash.

Johnson, the 2005 Big South Conference Player of the Year and 2005 NCAA East Regional champion, posted a 285 for the 72-hole event to put himself in the playoff with Derek Berg of Duvall, Wash., Kyle Stanley of Gig Harbor, Wash and Jon McLean of Weston, Fla. However, Johnson birdied the opening playoff hole, a par 5, and did not advance in the playoff with Stanley and McLean, who each eagled the 18th hole. Stanley eventually won the individual title with his second eagle in the playoff, both times on No. 18.
