Former Chanticleer Dan Obremski Wins Qualifier; Gains Berth to Greenbrier Classic
July 2, 2013
Dan Obremski, a former Coastal Carolina golfer, not only played his way in to his first start on the PGA TOUR at this week's The Greenbrier Classic, but did so in record-setting fashion.
The 26-year-old Pittsburgh native broke the Cobb Course record at Glade Springs with a 9-under 62 in the Monday qualifier. The previous mark was a 64 shot by Rod Pampling (2011) and Dick Mast (2010).
Obremski helped Coastal Carolina win four Big South Championships. In 2010, he earned All-Big South honors, placed a team-best third at the 2010 Big South Championship and placed 10th at the NCAA Southeast Regional.
