SUNRIVER, ORE. -- The Coastal Carolina men's golf team finished 16th after losing a team playoff to advance to the final round of the 2006 NCAA Men's Golf Championship, June 2. The battle for the national title is being contested at the Sunriver Resort's Crosswater Club (Par 72 - 7,630 yards) in Sunriver, Ore.

The Chanticleers started the day tied for 15th and shot three-over 291, but Brigham Young tied CCU after shooting a four-under 284 on the day. The two teams went to a one-hole, five-man aggregate playoff, which was won by BYU. CCU's finish at 16th is the top finish ever by a Big South team in a NCAA Division I National Championship.
