CONWAY - For the second year in a row, Coastal Carolina junior Sebastian Soderberg has been named to the Division I PING All-East Region, as selected by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA).

Soderberg (Ojersjo, Sweden) is just the second Chanticleer to be a two-time GCAA PING All-Region pick, joining Zack Byrd in 2007 and '09. Soderberg was one of 25 named the East Region team and one of 155 golfers across the country to be an All-Region honoree.

Soderberg, a three-time All-Big South honoree, earned an at-large berth as an individual the NCAA Athens Regional. He finished 14th overall at the Athens Regional, shooting a 1-over par 214 (68-74-72). He posted a 72.75 scoring average this season, ninth-best on the CCU single-season list, and had three top-five finishes in 2011-12, taking medalist honors at the Furman Intercollegiate, Overall, Soderberg tallied six top-20 finishes in 12 events this season with eight rounds in the 60's and 15 rounds of par or better.

Soderberg started the season in fine fashion, shooting a 3-under 213 at the Gene Miranda Falcon Invitational. He then finished the year on a high note, posting a 71.39 stroke average over his final 18 rounds with four top-15 finishes. Soderberg claimed his first medalist honor by winning the Furman Intercollegiate with three rounds of 68 and finished fourth at the Big South Championship with a 5-under 211.
