Men's Golf Finishes 15th at Rain-Shortened Administaff Augusta State Invitational

            EVANS, GA. -- Coastal Carolina's men's golf squad moved up two spots in the final 18 holes and finished 15th at the rain-shortened Administaff Augusta State Invitational presented by McCalla Raymer, LLC, Apr. 4-6. Originally scheduled to be a three-day, 54-hole event, the tournament's second day was washed out, as the event was played at Champions Retreat Golf Club (Par 72 - 7,403 yards) in Evans, Ga. The tournament featured 14 teams ranked among the top 50 in Division I golf, according to Golfstat, along with Division II No. 3 USC- Aiken             The tournament's two-time defending champion Chanticleers improved in their final round, shooting a 2-over 290 to move up from 17th to 15th with a 36-hole total of 591. Sixth-ranked UCLA blistered the field by shooting a 20-under 268 on the second round to finish at 24-under 552, 16 shots ahead of runner-up Georgia, currently ranked second in the nation. East Tennessee State was third at 569, with South Carolina fourth at 573.             Sophomore David Dannelly posted his best 18 holes as a Chant, shooting a 4-under 68 to move up to a tie for eighth at 3-under 141. Senior Lindsay Renolds was next for Coastal at 149, tying for 60th, while sophomore Dan Obremski tied for 69th at 151. UCLA's Lucas Lee took home medalist honors by shooting a 7-under 65 to finish at 10-under 134, with ETSU's Gareth Shaw was in second at 8-under 136.             The Chants will have two weeks to prepare to defend their league title when they head to Greenwood, S.C. and The Patriot Golf Club for the 2008 Big South Conference Men's Golf Championship.
