Pebble Beach, Calif. - Coastal Carolina golf alumn Tom Gillis fired a final round two-under par 70 on Sunday to move up five spots and finish third at the AT&T National Pro-Am at Pebble Beach with a four-round score of 11-under par 273.
The third-place finish marked Gillis' best in his career, as was his $428,400 earnings. Gillis finished two strokes behind second-place Hunter Mahan and four strokes behind champion D.A. Points.
Gillis made the turn at even par with a birdie and a bogey, but finished the back nine with two birdies and seven pars for his round of 70.
Gillis keeps an impressive streak of strong play by former Chanticleers at Pebble Beach. Dustin Johnson won the National Pro-Am in 2009 and '10 and was the 54-hole leader at the 2010 U.S. Open, played at Pebble Beach. Johnson finished 55th at the 2011 National Pro-Am.
