PEBBLE BEACH, CALIF. -- Former Coastal Carolina University men's golfer Dustin Johnson fired an 8-under 64 and has a 1-shot lead after the first round of the 2010 AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am, Feb. 11. Johnson is the defending champion in the event after picking up his second career PGA Tour win last year at the rain-shortened tournament.

Johnson had 10 birdies and two bogeys on his round at Pebble Beach's famed course, including tying a course record with a 6-under 30 on the back nine. Johnson strung together birdies on the final five holes of the day to take the opening round lead.

Another former Chanticleer golfer, Tom Gillis, is also in the field and is tied for 26th after posting a 3-under 69 at Spyglass Hill, traditionally the toughest of the three courses in the tournament rotation.

Johnson will go off the No. 10 tee at Monterrey Peninsula course at 9:06 am PST, playing in the Pro-Am with Joe Rice. The pair have the Pro-Am lead at 13-under par 59 after the first day. Gillis tees off No. 10 at Pebble Beach at 9:28 am PST.
