JONESBOROUGH, Tenn. - The Coastal Carolina men's golf team trimmed 10 strokes off its round one score, but remained in 12th place at The Bank of Tennessee Intercollegiate at The Ridges.
The Chanticleers, who carded a 305 on Friday, posted a 295 Saturday and have a 36-hole score of 600. Day one leader Kent State kept its top spot, posting a 280 on Saturday and having a two-round score of 571.
Senior Tripp McAllister led Coastal on Saturday with a one-under 71. He +3 (147) after 36 holes and is tied for 23rd. McAllister was even after nine holes, with a birdie on eight and bogey on nine, then birdied 13 and 16 before finishing bogey par for his one-under round. Freshman Roberto Ballesteros, playing in just his second collegiate event, turned in an even par 72. He was one over at the turn before posting two birdies and a bogey on the back nine. His two-day score of 148 (+4) puts him in a tie for 29th.
Drew Ernst, who struggled on day one, bounced back with a 74 on Saturday, knocking nine strokes off his day one total. He and Sebastian Soderberg are both at 157 and tied for 66th. Steve Delmar carded a 78 after a first round 74 and is tied for 48th with a 36-hole score of 152.
The Chanticleers will wrap up its fall portion of the schedule Sunday with the final 18 holes of the Bank of Tennessee Intercollegiate.
