GLENCOE, Ill. - The Coastal Carolina University men's golf team is in sixth late in the second round of the 2009 Windon Memorial Classic, Oct. 4. The two-day, 54-hole tournament, hosted by Northwestern University, is being played at the Skokie Country Club (Par 71 - 7,081 yards) in Glencoe, Ill.

Coastal Carolina posted a 21-over 305 in the opening round and was ninth of the 15 teams, but the Chanticleers rebounded in the second round are just 4-over to move up to sixth at 25-over. The second round was suspended due to darkness and will be concluded tomorrow. Illinois was the leader when darkness ended play, sitting a 13-over, with Michigan three shots behind in second. Northwestern was third at 20-over, with Eastern Michigan and Kent State at 21-over and 23-over, respectively.

Senior Dan Obremski is tied for the lead at 1-over with Northwestern's Sam Chien and Ben Pisani of Minnesota, with Obremski still with four holes remaining in the second 18. Freshman Anders Larson is tied for 25th at 7-over, with senior Sam Lyons one behind in a tie for 31st. Redshirt sophomore Drew Ernst is 10-over, tied for 47th, while sophomore Charlie Winegardner is 14-over and tied for 66th.

The Chanticleers will wrap up their second round tomorrow morning at 8:30, followed by the third round to complete the tournament. Coastal will again be paired with Illinois and California on Monday.
