STILLWATER, Okla. - Coastal Carolina sophomore Sebastian Soderberg posted an even-par round of 72 in his third and final round, moving up from 117th (tie) to 81st (tie) at the 2011 NCAA Men's Golf Championships, held at Oklahoma State's Karsten Creek. Soderberg finished his first trip at the NCAA Championships with a 54-hole total of 228 (77-79-72).
LSU's John Peterson led the field of 156 as the individual medalist with a three-day score of 211 (74-65-72).
Soderberg struggled early, standing at three-over par after six holes. However, he birdied the par-3 seventh hole and took par on holes eight and nine to finish the front side at two-over par.
Coming home, he opened with a double-bogey on number 10 only to birdie three of the next four holes with a par to get to one-over par for his round. After pars on holes 15 and 16, Soderberg birdied the hardest hole on the course, the 471-yard, par-4 17th to get to even par for his round. He then posted par on his final hole for his 72.
