Men's Golf Finishes 12th at John Hayt Collegiate Invitational

PONTE VEDRA BEACH, FLA. -- Coastal Carolina University's men's golf team finished 12th at the 2010 John Hayt Collegiate Invitational, Feb. 28-March 2. The three-day, 54-hole tournament was played at Sawgrass Country Club (Par 72 - 6,955 yards) in Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla. Coastal shot a 304 in the final round and finished the tournament in 12th at 907. Host and No. 27 North Florida ran away with the event, posting a 12-shot victory with an 876. No. 33 LSU was second at 888, one shot better than No. 30 Duke in third at 889. No. 23 Alabama was fourth at 895, with No. 25 Tennessee and Tulsa tying for fifth at 898. The Chants were led by senior Dan Obremski, as he posted his third top-10 finish of the year by tying for second at even-par 216. Freshman Sebastian Soderberg was next in a tie for 48th at 230, while redshirt-sophomore Drew Ernst and sophomore Charlie Winegardner tied for 54th at 232. Senior Sam Lyons rounded out the team scoring at 240, tying for 79th. Redshirt-freshman Daily Young, playing as an individual, tied for 69th at 235. North Florida's Joe Byun took home medalist honors by four shots after posting a three-round score of 4-under 212. The Chanticleers will return home for its next action, as they will host the 2010 General Hackler Championship March 14-15, 2010.
