    GAINESVILLE, FLA. --  Coastal Carolina's men's golf team shot its best round of the tournament and finished 12th at the 2010 SunTrust Gator Invitational, Feb. 13-14. The two-day, 54-hole tournament was played at the Mark Bostick Golf Course  (Par 70) in Gainesville, Fla.

    Coastal put together its best round of the tournament, shooting 294 in the final 18 to finish at 58-over 898 and in 12th. No. 4 and host Florida ran away with the team title, finishing at 1-over 841 to win by 18 shots over No. 16 Florida State in second. No. 40 Chattanooga was third at 869, with Lamar in fourth at 870. Duke and LSU tied for fifth at 872 to round out the top five.

    CCU was led by redshirt-sophomore Drew Ernst, who shot a 1-over 71 in the final round to tie for 31st at 11-over 221. Senior Dan Obremski was next in a tie for 45th at 224, while freshman Sebastian Soderberg also had a 71 in his last 18 and moved up to a tie for 51st at 225. Senior Sam Lyons was next for the Chants in a tie for 58th at 228, with redshirt-sophomore Alan Lee rounding out the scoring at 239, tying for 72nd. Mississippi's Jonathan Randolph shot a final round 3-under 67 to take home medalist honors at even par 210, one shot better than LSU's Andrew Loupe. Florida had its top three players, Tyson Alexander, Andres Echavarria and Tim McKenney, tie for third at 212.

    The Chanticleers are back on course for the John Hayt Collegiate Invitational, Sun.-Tue., Feb. 28-March 2. The tournament, hosted by the University of North Florida, will be played at Sawgrass Country Club in Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla.
