CONWAY, S.C. - Coastal Carolina University football's Tommy Fraser (Myrtle Beach, S.C./Carolina Forest) was named a First Team All-American at fullback by The Sports Network, the organization announced. Fraser becomes the 14th Chanticleer ever to earn All-American honors.

Ranked sixth in the league in rushing at 61.0 yards per game, despite being a fullback, Fraser led the Chants in rushing (671) and all-purpose yards (798). The 671 yards are the fourth-best single season in Coastal history. He posted a career-high 157 yards and one touchdown on 23 carries in the win over Presbyterian, tying for the sixth most in Chanticleer history. He set career-highs for single-game rushing yards on three separate occasions during the year and three times where he surpassed his combined rushing total from all games in 2008. He ran for 74 yards on 14 carries in the win over Monmouth, his first high and later followed it up with 16 carries for 98 yards and one score in the win over North Carolina A&T. He also rushed 23 times for 90 yards and one touchdown in the win over Gardner-Webb, while carrying the ball 18 times for 79 yards and one touchdown along with two catches for 39 yards in his final collegiate game at Charleston Southern.

Fraser joins sophomore cornerback Josh Norman as 2009 All-Americans, as Norman was previously honored on the Associated Press' Third Team.
