CONWAY - Coastal Carolina will hold a sendoff event for the Chanticleer football team in front of Brooks Stadium on Friday morning at 11:30 a.m. The Chants will then board the bus and begin their journey to North Dakota State University where they will take on the top-seeded Bison in the quarterfinal round of the FCS playoffs on Saturday at noon (ET).
The sendoff event is open to all Coastal Carolina faculty, staff and students as well as all Chanticleer fans wanting to give the team well wishes. Members of the Chanticleer marching band as well as the Coastal Carolina cheerleaders will be in attendance to help send the team off in style.
The Chanticleers are playing in their first ever FCS Championship quarterfinal game after defeating Montana 42-35 in Missoula, Mont., last week. The Chants will look to continue their playoff push against a Bison team that has won the past two FCS Championships.
Saturday's game will be televised on ESPN with kickoff set for 11 a.m./noon (ET). Chanticleer fans seeking to watch the game are encouraged to join the watch parties at Cleat Chasers next to Coastal Carolina's campus or at Buffalo Wild Wings in Carolina Forest.
