CONWAY - There are numerous events going on surrounding Coastal Carolina's 2010 regular-season football finale this Saturday (Nov. 20) and numerous ways to see the Chants send off its 2010 senior class and see CCU try for a Big South Championship versus Charleston Southern at 1 pm in Brooks Stadium.
Coastal Carolina is 4-1 in the Big South and tied with Liberty for second in the conference standings. Liberty (4-1) will host Big South leader Stony Brook (5-0) Saturday. A Coastal win, coupled with a Liberty win would create a three-way tie for first in the Big South with defensive points allowed in league play being the determining factor in one of the three champions earning the Big South's automatic bid to the NCAA FCS playoffs.
"To the fans out there and the people of this community, we need you at this game," said head football coach David Bennett. "We play this during our Thanksgiving break so most of our students (will) have gone home."
While school will be closed, current Coastal Carolina students will be admitted for free with a valid student ID and/or wrist band, just as they have in the previous four 2010 home games.
To help draw new fans, or former fans, there are a couple of promotions to help give the 23 senior class great send off.
1. HTC customers can go to their local HTC office and, for $10, get a buy-one-get-one-free ticket package. Non-HTC customers can go by those same offices and purchase a buy-one-get-one-free package for just $15. 2. Coastal Carolina will give away 3,000 Chanticleer-shaped "silly bands" to children 12 and under.
Also prior to the football game, Coastal Carolina baseball fans can "Select-Your-Seat" and purchase your 2011 baseball season tickets at Watson Stadium. The seats available will be marked and fans simply have to take the placard(s) from the available seat(s), fill out your information (including a method of payment) and process the placards at the marketing table. The "Select-Your-Seat" campaign will re-open at the conclusion of the football game as well for one hour.
