Coastal Football Makes Furthest Trip
Coastal will be making its furthest road trip for football when it travels to Moscow, Idaho. According to Google Maps, the distance from Conway to Moscow is 2,737 miles.
Previously, Coastal's furthest trip was in 2013 to Missoula, Montana (2,488 according to Google Maps). Coastal upset then #4 seed Montana, 42-35, in the 2nd round of the NCAA FCS playoffs, which is believed to be the coldest FCS playoff game played. Actual temperature at kickoff was minus 5 degrees with wind chills reaching negative 30.
This will be Coastal's fourth trip across the Mississippi River this year, as Coastal has played at UL Monroe, Arkansas State and Arkansas previously.
Prior to this year, Coastal had only crossed the Mississippi River four times.
- The 2013 trip to Montana for the FCS playoffs.
- Twice (2013 and 2014) to play eventual national champion North Dakota State in the NCAA FCS quarterfinals.
- The 2016 season opener at Lamar.
