Football Moves Up One Spot In Each National Poll

Chanticleers earn highest ever ranking in Sports Network Poll at 14th

CONWAY, S.C. – The Coastal Carolina University football program continued to climb, moving up one place in each of the national polls this week, announced Oct. 17.

Coastal's highest ranking comes in The Sports Network Top 25, where the Chanticleers achieved their highest ranking ever at No. 14 with 1,300 points. The Chanticleers also moved up in the ESPN/USA Today Coaches Poll, going to 15th with 608 points. CCU is 19th in the Any Given Saturday poll, the team's highest ranking ever in the poll. In two other independent rankings, the Chants are 19th by College Sports Report and 21st according to Don Hansen's National Weekly Football Gazette.

After a nailbiting, 34-31 overtime victory over Gardner-Webb last week, the Chants play the second of three consecutive Big South Conference games, traveling to Liberty, Sat., Oct. 22. The game will be played at LU's Williams Stadium in Lynchburg, Va., with kickoff slated for 7 p.m.
