Derrick Frasier(on playing a conference team): "Each game is very important to us, but going into a conference makes it that much more special. We prepare for every team (each week) just like the other teams."

Tim Franklin(on playing a conference team): "We prepare every week just for that one game, it doesn't matter who it is. We are getting better for that week and we don't look into the future. We don't care who the opponent is, we just prepare to get our team better and play a great game every day."

Derrick Frasier (on preparing for games): "This year, we decided to take one game at a time (as opposed to last year). I'm pretty sure that's what every good football team does, just take one game at a time."

Tim Franklin(on having a bye week): "We practiced hard. We got a lot of fundamental stuff done and got a lot of game-plan stuff done. It helped us prepare, mentally, for this upcoming week. Also, physically, it did help us rest a little bit and get our bodies right for the next game ahead."

Tim Franklin (on the state of running game): "If the running game works, it works. We press hard each week to get it going. There's always room for improvement, it doesn't matter where you start or end, there's always room for improvement."

Coach David Bennett(on VMI being 0-4): "Who have they played? (Akron), Richmond and William and Mary is who. Last time I checked, Richmond's like number 11 and William and Mary's number 6. They moved the ball on them. They are averaging about 100 yards rushing every game and 200 yards passing every game. They are averaging 300 yards a game against the top in the nation. So, this is probably the best VMI team we've ever faced. They have played a tough schedule. VMI competed against William and Mary and they competed against Richmond. They are kind of in the situation we were last year where we had a chance at Richmond and had a chance at Georgia Southern."

Coach David Bennett(on quarterbacks): "If you've got someone who is clearly the best quarterback, that's who you go with. We got a guy we like in there, Aramis (Hillary). Jamie (Childers) can play there, but he does better at tight end. (Aramis) plays a position, just like everybody else. To have a great team, you have to have all of those guys. I think finally, it sunk into Jamie, `what can I do for this team,' not `I want to be quarterback.' Right now, Aramis is our starting quarterback. Jamie could start as tight end and help this team do great things."

Coach David Bennett(on practice during the bye week): "[We worked on] fundamentals, healing up, some techniques and were able to get on the road recruiting. It's good to get a break right here in the middle. I think it's good for everybody. "

Coach David Bennett (on the team's strength): "I think the team strength is that they believe in one another. They are a close-knit group and they have a little unity. We are striving to become a little more disciplined and selfless."
