FCS Coaches Poll

The Sports Network Poll

CONWAY - The 4-0 Coastal Carolina football team moved to 11th in the FCS Coaches poll and 12th by The Sports Network poll after a 50-17 win over Hampton this past Saturday. The Chanticleers were ranked 15th in both polls last week.

Head coach Joe Moglia and Matt Hogue will discuss the new ranking, recap the Hampton game and preview CCU's game at Elon this weekend (Sept. 28 at 1:30 pm) at the weekly Chanticleer Call-In, held each Monday from 6-7 pm at Buffalo Wild Wings in Carolina Forest. The public is welcome to interact with Coach Moglia and participate in the show at the restaurant. For those unable to attend, the show is broadcast live locally on The Team 100.3 FM as well as online as part of the Chanticleer Sports Network. Questions may be phoned in at 843-652-3776, submitted via email at askthecoacch@coastal.edu or tweeted @Chants365 by using the hashtag #ccucallin.

This marks the fifth consecutive week Coastal has been ranking among the nation's top 25, including the preseason polls. The last time CCU enjoyed such a run in the national ranking was finishing the 2006 season ranked in each of the final seven weeks.

Coastal, who has scored over 50 points in each of the last two weeks, is joined by Gardner-Webb in The Sports Network top 25, coming in at 25th. The Runnin' Bulldogs are coming off back-to-back wins over nationally-ranked opponents (Richmond and Wofford) and also defeated Furman. After traveling to Elon this week and having an open date, Coastal will host Gardner-Webb on Oct. 12 at 6 pm as part of Faith & Family Day. Prior to the CCU-GWU, Maurice Clarett will give his testimony at The HTC Center. For information or to purchase tickets, contact the CCU Ticket Office at 843-347-8499.
