The Sports Network Poll (Sept. 16)

FCS Coaches Poll (Sept. 16)

CONWAY - After a convincing 51-32 win at then #25 Eastern Kentucky and starting 3-0 for the first time in school history, Coastal Carolina moved up six spots to 15th in both The Sports Network poll and the FCS Coaches poll.

This marks Coastal Carolina's highest ranking in either poll since ending the 2006 season ranked 14th. Coastal's highest ranking as a program came in the 2005 season when the coaches ranked the Chants eighth twice during the year - after going 7-1 and two weeks later with a 9-1 record. (CCU dropped to ninth in the coaches poll on Nov. 7 despite a win in week nine.) Coastal's was ranked ninth by The Sports Network in 2005 during those same three weeks (Oct. 31-Nov. 14).

Fans can hear Coastal Carolina head coach Joe Moglia and Matt Hogue discuss the ranking, this week's game with Hampton for Family Weekend (6 pm kickoff), recap last week's game at Eastern Kentucky and talk about the Big South honors bestowed upon Lorenzo Taliaferro and Samson Baldwintonight at the weekly Chanticleer Call-In Show. The show is from 6-7 pm at Buffalo Wild Wings in Carolina Forest and the public to welcome to interact with Coach Moglia and participate in the show. For those unable to attend, the show is broadcast live locally on The Team 100.3 FM as well as online as part of the Chanticleer Sports Network. Questions may be phoned in at 843-652-3776, submitted via email at askthecoacch@coastal.edu or tweeted @Chants365 by using the hashtag #ccucallin.

As mentioned, this weekend versus Hampton will be Family Weekend at Coastal Carolina, which generally brings one of the largest crowds each season to Brooks Stadium. That combined with the team's early success has led to ticket sales picking up already this week. However, tickets are still available and, to assist parents this week only, the ticket office will set up a satellite location at the HTC Center (next to the bookstore) from 9 am to 5 pm this Thursday and Friday. Tickets can also be purchased in advance online at GoCCUSports.com or by calling 843-347-8499.
