Maurice Clarett to Headline List of CCU Football Promotions

Clarett will be on campus Oct. 12 for Faith and Family Day

Coastal Carolina Football 2013 Schedule

CONWAY - Maurice Clarett, running back for the 2002 BCS National Champion Ohio State Buckeyes, will headline Faith and Family Day on Saturday, Oct. 12 prior to Coastal Carolina hosting Gardner-Webb. Faith and Family Day is one of the many special promotions Coastal Carolina will have for each of its six home football games this season.

HOME GAME 1 - High School Band Day - Sept. 7
vs. Furman
Local high school band will join the CCU band for pre-game and halftime festivities.

HOME GAME 2 - Family Weekend - Sept. 21
vs. Hampton
The University welcomes back the parents of current CCU students. Special seating arrangements for parents and students have been made for that game. To reserve your tickets for the game, parents are asked to use the code sent over this past summer or, if you have misplaced the code or have further questions, call the CCU Athletics Ticket Office at 843-347-8499.

HOME GAME 3 - Cheer Camp/Faith and Family Day - Oct. 12
vs. Gardner-Webb
First, the Coastal Carolina cheer squad will conduct a one-day camp Saturday (Oct. 12) morning (scheduled start time is 11 am). To register, contact CCU head cheer coach Audralee Scofield by email at or by calling 843-349-2867.

Later, Maurice Clarett will be the headline speaker at the Faith and Family Day event held in The HTC Center at 4:00 pm. Clarett was featured in Sports Illustrated' s "Where Are They Now?" issue this past July, detailing his road to redemption after his much publicized past.

Doors to The HTC Arena will open at 3 pm. The event will start at 4:00 pm with live music, followed by Clarett's testimony. The event will end approximately 5:30 pm, allowing fans to make their way to Brooks Stadium to see the Chanticleers take on the Runnin' Bulldogs.

Tickets, which get you into both the Clarett event and Coastal's football game, are available for purchase by using the code "FFDAY" and by clicking HERE. You can also call the Coastal Carolina Athletics Ticket Office at 843-347-8499 and please mention Faith and Family Day when you order.

Tickets must be purchased in advance. Coastal Carolina Season Ticket Holders may attend the event free of charge by presenting their season ticket at the door. Doors will open at 3:00 pm.

HOME GAME 4 - Heroes on Display - Oct. 26 (Chauncey's Night 5k on Friday, Oct. 25)
vs. VMI
On Friday evening prior to the VMI game Coastal will host the inaugural Chauncey's Night 5k on CCU's campus. Your race entry fee includes a game ticket for Saturday's CCU-VMI football contest, a T-shirt and various glow-in-the-dark items. On Saturday, the Coastal Carolina Department of Athletics will honor all branches of the military as well as local fire, police and emergency units. Prior to the game, these groups will be on display on the Blanton Lawn.

Coastal will then honor those groups during the game. Anyone who has served or is currently serving our country, state, county and surrounding cities will be granted a complimentary ticket and their guests will be able to purchase a game ticket for just $10 per person. HOME GAME 5 - Homecoming/CCU Athletics Hall of Fame - Nov. 2
vs. Charlotte
Two great traditions will be renewed as Coastal Carolina's campus welcomes back all of its alumni to campus as well as CCU inducting four new greats into its Athletics Hall of Fame. The pageantry of college football homecoming, combined with the halftime recognition of former CCU greats, makes this one of the best games for CCU fans.

HOME GAME 6 - Senior Day/Youth Day - Nov. 16
vs. Presbyterian
All area schools and youth leagues will be sent ticket vouchers for the CCU-Presbyterian game. Those vouchers can be used by youth (ages 18 and under) to purchase a $5 ticket while adults can purchase a tickets for $10 per person.
