Football's Leggett Named Third Team Preseason All-American by College Sporting News
CONWAY, S.C. – Coastal Carolina University senior offensive lineman Britt Leggett (Evergreen, N.C./West Columbus) has been named to the College Sporting News 2008 Preseason All-American Third Team, the magazine announced today (Aug. 27).
Leggett, the projected starter at right tackle, also was a Preseason All-Big South selection in 2008. He started all 10 games he played in during his junior season, earning First Team All-Big South honors in 2007. Leggett blocked for the Big South Offensive Player of the Year and helped the Chants set Big South passing records for yards and touchdowns as well as total offense in 2006.
Leggett joins Liberty’s Rashad Jennings and Dominic Bolden as Big South players on the Third Team. Mario Brown of Gardner-Webb was selected on the First Team.
Coastal opens the 2008 season Saturday, August 30 at #22 FBS Penn State. Kickoff is at 12 p.m., and can be seen on the Big Ten Network, channel 6 on HTC Cable in Horry County.
