CONWAY - The Big South Conference announced its 2011 football television package, which included four Chanticleer games this fall. As a result, Coastal Carolina has changed its start time for the VMI (Oct. 8) and Gardner-Webb (Oct. 22) games, now set to begin at 7 pm with both match-ups being televised on the Mid-Atlantic Sports Network.
Coastal Carolina will also have two road games televised as part of the Big South package, playing at Liberty on Oct. 15 as part of the Flames Sports Network and at Stony Brook on Oct. 29 on ESPN3. The start times for those two contests remain at 3:30 pm and 4 pm, respectively.
Also, Coastal Carolina's football game at Georgia on Sept. 17 will have a 1 pm kickoff time and be will telecast on a Pay-Per-View basis.
The Chanticleers will open the 2011 season on Sept. 3, hosting Furman at 6 pm, and return to Brooks Stadium the following week to host Catawba at 6 pm as well.
The VMI game, now set for 7 pm on Oct. 8, will be the Department of Athletics' annual Military/Public Service Appreciation Day. Two weeks later (Oct. 22), Coastal hosts Gardner-Webb, now at 7 pm, for Homecoming. The Chants' final home game will be Nov. 5, hosting Presbyterian at 6 pm for CCU Athletics Hall of Fame Day, Senior Day and Family Weekend.
