Football Conducts Second Scrimmage of Fall

CONWAY, S.C. - The Coastal Carolina football team completed the second of three scrimmages this fall on Wednesday afternoon Aug. 16. This scrimmage was controlled with no contact on the quarterbacks and various scripted situations for each drive. Unlike the first scrimmage, held on Saturday Aug. 12, the offense seemed to have a better day than the defense overall.

"I thought we did much better today," head coach David Bennett said. "The defense didn’t do as well as they have been doing, but there were some bright spots. Offensively, Racheed Gause ran the ball well along with Mike Tolbert. I felt there was some good blocking from the backs, good throws, catches and good protection from the offensive line. Overall, the defense made some good plays, but the offense just had the upper-hand today."

The Chanticleers will continue to prepare for their home opener against Elon, Saturday Sept. 2 at Brooks Stadium in Conway.
