Football Holds Practice Through the Steady Rain

CONWAY, S.C. -- Coastal Carolina University's football team practiced in a steady rain in Conway Wednesday, in preparation for its season opener at Penn State in 17 days.

The Chanticleers opened with special teams work on kickoffs, punts and field goals, while selected positions went through individual drills. The team then broke into offensive and defensive groups and ran through various plays and formations, followed by sprints, to wrap up the hour-and-a-half practice.

Coastal Carolina returns to the practice field on Thursday with a pair of practices scheduled. The Chants are to hit the field in the morning at 11 a.m., followed by an evening session from 7-9 p.m.
