CONWAY, S.C. -- The Coastal Carolina football team took to the field for just one practice on Day 11of the pre-season camp and it was a light one. The Chanticleers went through various individual drills and then some light contact during the practice, as the squad will hold its first scrimmage of 2006 on Saturday, Aug. 12, starting with stretching at 9 a.m.
"We had a light practice day today so that we can go full throttle at tomorrow's scrimmage," head coach David Bennett said. "The weather was great, as 88 is a lot better than 108. The squad was more crisp during the 11-on-11 workout. While we need the scrimmage to look at our team, the main goal is to stay healthy through the scrimmage. But it will give us a chance to see where we are."
