Coastal Carolina's football squad completed its ninth day of practice with a single workout in the afternoon Wed., Aug. 9. The Chanticleers worked on various individual drills before going 11-on-11 and 7-on-7 in the middle of practice. More position drills followed, with the practice wrapping up with more 11-on-11 work on the passing game and some special teams workout. Overall, Coastal continues to make progress towards its opening game against Elon, Sept. 2.
"We are slowly getting better every day," head coach David Bennett said. "After losing yesterday's late practice due to rain, we went longer on the field today and also wanted to do some extra conditioning. However, the weather cut the conditioning part short, as we only got halfway through what we wanted to do in that area after practice. But it was great to see players stepping up, even after practice when Adrian Grady talked with me about what he thought we needed to do to to be ready come Sept. 2. Seeing that senior leadership is good to see right now - we have to have it to be successful this year."
CCU will return to the field for a pair of practices Thu., Aug. 10, starting at 6:20 a.m.
