Football Announces Fall Pre-season Schedule

CONWAY, S.C. – Coastal Carolina University’s new football program will have its first official practice, Friday, August 7, at 3 p.m. at the intramural fields on CCU's campus.

The 90 players that were invited to the two-week camp prior to school starting report this afternoon at the CCU campus. On Thursday, August 8, the team will undergo a series of tests and meetings before opening practice Friday afternoon.

The Chanticleers will open their first season of I-AA football in the Big South Conference, Sat., Sept. 6, hosting Newberry at 7 p.m.

The practice schedule for the pre-season camp (through Aug. 19) is as follows, with all times and location tentative based on weather:

Friday, August 8: 3:00- 6:00 p.m. (Helmets and Shorts Only)
Saturday, August 9: 9:30 a.m.- 12:00 p.m. (Helmets & Shoulder Pads)
Sunday, August 10: 7:00- 8:30 pm (Helmets & Shoulder Pads)
Monday, August 11: 3:00- 6:00 pm (Full gear)
Tuesday, August 12 8:00-10:30 am (Full gear); 6:30-9:00 pm (Full gear)
