2011 Phil Steele Preseason All-Big South Conference Team Get Acrobat Reader

CONWAY - Coastal Carolina senior David Duran was tabbed preseason first team All-American by Phil Steele, while 2011 Big South Preseason Defensive Player of the Year Andrae Jacobs was selected to the fourth team. Duran and Jacobs were each named Preseason first team All-Big South, along with Jamey Cheatwood (OT), Dexter Holman (DT), Josh Norman (CB) and Niccolo Mastromatteo (PR) while Desmond Steward (LB) and Mastromatteo (KOR) earned preseason second team recognition.

Coastal Carolina will begin its defense of the 2010 Big South Championship on Aug. 3, when the team reports for preseason camp. The first practice will be the following day, Aug. 4. The first day in full pads will be Aug. 9, followed by the first of five two-a-day sessions on Aug. 10.

As of Aug. 1, 2011, there are 33 days left prior to Coastal Carolina opening the 2011 football season as Furman comes to Brooks Stadium Sept. 3. Kickoff is set for 6 pm.
