Coastal Carolina's Nicholas Clark Voted Sun Belt SAAC President
NEW ORLEANS - Nicholas Clark, a junior defensive back on the Coastal Carolina football team, has been named President of the Sun Belt Conference Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC).
Clark (Hampton, Va./Bethel HS) was selected by his peers on the committee (one representative from each of the 12 Sun Belt institutions) to serve as the chair for the 2016-17 academic year. His responsibilities will include leading the conference SAAC meetings and teleconferences along with overseeing the execution of the year's SAAC agenda. Currently, this is a one year position but Clark will have the opportunity to run again next year for his senior season.
Clark has a distinguished career of leadership during his three seasons at Coastal. He is three-year member of Coastal Carolina's SAAC and served as its vice president this past season. Clark additionally serves on the Coastal Carolina football Leadership Council and was selected to attend the seventh annual NCAA Career in Sports Forum in Indianapolis, Ind., this past June.
Clark played in nine games in the 2015 season and recorded an interception in the win at South Carolina State. He has earned Big South Presidential Honor Roll recognition three times for posting at least a 3.0 GPA for each of his first three academic years at Coastal Carolina.
