Coastal Carolina Holds Annual Palmetto Pro Day
CONWAY - Headlined by the 2015 Big South Offensive Player of the Year and All-American De'Angelo Henderson, 23 total student-athletes -- including 17 Chanticleers -- were on Coastal Carolina's campus Friday morning showcasing their skills during the annual Palmetto Pro Day.
NFL scouts representing the Raiders, Jets, Falcons, Chiefs, Lions, Packers, Redskins, Giants, Texans, Panthers, Cardinals and Buccaneers were on hand to evaluate the participating student-athletes.
Among those participating for Coastal Carolina were Henderson, Jabarai Bothwell, Devin Brown, Kenny Daniels, Dom DiGalbo, Sam Ekwonike, Voghens Larrieux, Bruce Mapp, Adam Maxie, Richie Sampson, Alex Scearce, Kam Summers, CJ Thompson and Chase Tidwell. Former Chants Danny Anousheh, Tyrell Blanks and John Israel were also present.
Student-athletes from Charleston Southern, Florida A&M, Newberry and Limestone also participated.
The Pro Day began with the student-athletes' measurements, followed by weight room testing. Inside the Watson Strength and Conditioning Center, the student-athletes were tested for their broad and vertical jumps, as well as the 225-pound bench press.
Due to periods of rain throughout the morning, the group then moved to the Boni Belle Hitting Facility, where the student-athletes tested their times in various cone and agility drills.
The rain cleared just as the agility drills were ending, and the group then moved to Brooks Stadium to close the day with the 40-yard dash and individual position drills.
