Coastal Carolina to host six home games in its second season
CONWAY, S.C. Coastal Carolina University Coastal Carolina will have six games in its second season of NCAA college football, CCU Athletic Director Warren Moose Koegel announced today. The schedule includes a pair of Big South Conference games at Brooks Stadium this season, as Coastal looks to improve on the 6-5 mark from its inaugural season.
We are excited about what football has added to Coastal Carolina University, Koegel said. We are looking forward to playing all the schools in our schedule again this season, as it has a good local flavor. We are continuing to work on future schedules to bring an even higher level of college football to the Grand Strand area.
Coastals second season kicks off on Sat., Sept. 4 at Morehead State. CCU will return for the home opener on Armed Services Day on Sept. 11 at 7 p.m. After a road game at Newberry, Sept. 18, the Chanticleers will return to Brooks Stadium to host North Greenville, Sept. 25 at 7 p.m. A paid of road games at Charleston (WV), Oct. 9, and the Big South opener at VMI, Oct. 16, are next on the slate. The Hall of Fame game follows that, as CCU welcomes Big South foe Liberty to Conway, Oct. 23, at 7 p.m. After playing at two-time defending champion Gardner-Webb, Oct. 30, Coastal will wrap up the season with three consecutive home games, starting with Homecoming against Savannah State, Nov. 6 at 12:30 p.m. CCU will then take on Jacksonville, Nov. 13, before hosting instate-rival Charleston Southern for the Big South finale, Nov. 20.
