Coastal Carolina in the Final NCAA Statistics

Big South Conference Final Statistics

CONWAY - The Coastal Carolina football program officially closed the book on is record-setting 2012 season recently during a banquet in Adkins Field House.

Highlighting the night were two sets of special honors. First, sixth-year senior David Duran was named the BAM Player of the Year. Although his playing time was limited due to two injuries, the league coaches thought enough of the tight end to place him on the All-Big South team. However, the BAM Award has less to do with statistics; rather it has everything to do with the character and leadership of the man and how he stands on his own two feet and takes responsibility for his own actions. Second, head coach Joe Moglia ended the evening by announcing Duran, Quinton Davis, Andrae Jacobs, Aramis Hillary and Pat Williams as the captains for the 2012 season.

Josh Stoner began the evening by announcing Jeremy Height (offense) and Dontavais Johnson (defense) as the Strength & Conditioning Athletes of the Year.

Two players who did not see game action in 2012 were recognized for getting those who did play prepared for what they would face on Saturday's as running back De'Angelo Henderson (offense) and linebacker Brett Johnson (defense) were named the Chant Players of the Year.

The winners of the three final awards surprised no one, especially those close to the Chanticleer program, as first team All-Big South quarterback Hillary was tabbed Coastal's Offensive Player of the Year; 2012 Big South Defensive Player of the Year and All-American linebacker Quinn Backus was Coastal's Defensive Player of the Year; and Jacobs was named Coastal's Special Teams Player of the Year.
