CONWAY - Coastal Carolina All-American lineman Jamey Cheatwood will wear his familiar #72 and play for the "Americans" in the second annual College All-Star Bowl, held Feb. 14 (Friday) at 6 pm. The game will be played in Greenville at Furman's Paladin Stadium and will be telecast live on the CBS Sports Network.

Cheatwood (Boiling Springs, S.C.) is the third Chanticleer to play in a postseason all-star game this season, joining Matt Hazel (East-West Shrine Game) and Lorenzo Taliaferro (Senior Bowl).

Cheatwood was named third team All-America by the Associated Press and The Sports Network in 2013. He was a three-time All-Big South selection, starting 43 of his 44 games played during his career. He helped the Chanticleers win Big South Championships and earn berths to the NCAA Division I playoffs in 2010, '12 and '13.

As a senior, Cheatwood did not allow a sack and just seven quarterback hurries in 397 pass attempts, while leading the offensive linemen with 90 knockdown blocks. Coastal's offense set 29 team single-season records this past season while establishing 17 Big South team single-season marks. The Chants led the NCAA FCS in fewest tackles for loss allowed, was second in third down conversions, third in red zone offense, third in first downs, fifth in scoring offense, eighth in rushing offense and 11th in total offense.

For his career, Cheatwood was part of offensive line units that ranked third in 2010, 13th in 2011, 47th in 2012 and 26th in 2013 nationally in fewest sacks allowed. (Note, Cheatwood missed the final six games of 2012 due to an injury, and CCU allowed nine sacks in those six games.)
