Devin Brown Named 2nd Team Freshman All-American

CONWAY - Coastal Carolina kick returner Devin Brown has been named second team Freshman All-American by College Sports Journal.
Brown is Coastal's first Freshman All-American for football. He was named first team All-Big South, ranking 35th in the NCAA FCS and second in the conference in kick returns (24.3 yards per return).
Brown took over as Coastal's kick returner midway through the year but still set a CCU single-season record with 632 kick return yards while his 26 kick returns ranks second on the school's single-season list.
He was named Big South Special Teams Player of the Week and CFPA National Kick Returner of the Week thanks to a 95-yard kick return versus Gardner-Webb, He became the third Chanticleer to return a kick for a touchdown and it marked the longest scoring play in school history. Brown finished the game versus the Runnin' Bulldogs with five kick returns for 169 total yards - second on the CCU single-game list. The following week Brown had two kick returns for 87 yards and he closed the regular season with returns of 26, 24 and 21 yards versus South Carolina.
