Ryan Granger Named Academic All-Star
CONWAY - Coastal Carolina placekicker Ryan Granger was one of 44 winners named to the 19th annual Football Championship Subdivision Athletics Directors Association (FCS ADA) Academic All-Star Team, the organization announced today.
Granger, who carries a career GPA of 3.722 in computer science, was additionally named to the squad last season and extends Coastal's streak to six straight years of having at least one Chanticleer among the honorees.
Granger had earned Dean's List or President's List (4.0) eight times and set several Coastal Carolina record over the last two seasons. In 2015, he made a then school-record 15 field goals only to surpass that mark with 17 this past season. His total was bolstered by making a CCU-record four field goals in the 2016 season finale versus Hampton. He additionally set (in 2015) and broke (in 2016) his own mark for field goal percentage in a season by making 81 percent (17-of-21) while setting the CCU career record for field goal percentage at 80.9 percent (38-for-47).
