Coastal Carolina vs. Bethune Cookman
Postgame Quotes
11/30/13

Coastal Carolina Head Coach Joe Moglia
Opening Statement: "I felt great about the game. At the end of the day, Coach Jenkins had done a great job at Bethune. We had a lot of respect for them. Statistically they were as a good a defense as we played all season.

I though Alex (Ross) had a great season. I thought he made some very good choices. I think our line up front ended up doing a great job. Everybody chipped in and did their share from an offensive perspective.

I felt good about our effort across the board on defense and I felt we did a good job in regard to the special teams. I thought we were effective in terms of our punt game, and our kickoff was effective. At the end of the day, I give all the credit in the world to Bethune, and I was very proud of our guys.

I recognize this was a holiday week for all of our students, and for the students that came out and the fans that made the trip back to campus, I want to thank them for the support they gave us."

Bethune-Cookman Head Coach Brian Jenkins
Opening statement: "We didn't get it done. We played a good Coastal Carolina team and they found a way to capitalize on our mistakes. If you look at the stats, it's an even game, but what can you say. You've got to take your hat off to them. They did a wonderful job. You can't make any excuses. They're a good football team. We knew that. They do a good job of doing what they do and I wish them the best throughout the playoffs."

On what Coastal's offense did against them to be successful: "They didn't really do anything that made them hard to stop. We gave up several big plays. Our guys are right there and stumbled on two touchdowns where the DBs fell down. It wasn't anything that we couldn't handle. They just made more plays than any other team has made on us all year."

On McClure's fumble return for a touchdown being the biggest play of the game: "I think so. That allowed thme to gain some confidence and that was totally on us. It was nothing that they did that caused it. We didn't do what we were supposed to do at a couple positions. But that swung the game and got them the lead and gave them the chance to anchor down and start doing some things. It's hard to make mistakes like that and plays like that happen and win a football game against a first-class program like Coastal Carolina."
