Postgame Quotes

Coastal Carolina head coach Joe Moglia

Opening Statement: "The first half, I couldn't have been more pleased with our guys. Offensively I thought we did a good job of moving the ball. I was very pleased with the effort the defense gave, they did a good job of shutting them down. I think our defense needed that. We've been a little inconsistent in giving up some big plays, so I was pleased we didn't do that tonight. I thought the special teams looked solid. Overall I thought we looked good across the board in the first half.

In the second half, we did everything we could to get everyone on the sideline some work. I wanted to use this game as an opportunity to help our second and third units understand what they weren't particularly sharp on. That's important because if one of our guys goes down, we need someone else to step up."

How focused was the team after last week's big win?

"We can't control everything that goes on around us, but what we can control is our focus to our commitment and taking responsibility. All of our guys know it doesn't matter what happened a week ago, what does matter is being prepared for Saturday."

Was this the most complete effort you've seen this year?

"Yes I think it is the most complete effort we've had. Defensively we stepped up and didn't give up any big plays. Special teams I thought was solid. Offensively I thought we did a great job. I couldn't be more proud or pleased with what we did in the first half."

Hampton head coach Don Rose

Opening statement: "They ran the ball and once they ran it and we couldn't stop it, they did what anybody would do. You continue to run it, so I think that was the story. We knew they were going to run it but it surprised me that our guys weren't able to prevent them from running as much. We knew they run a lot of zone reads and options, but it was kind of disappointing that we weren't able to stop it at all. They didn't have to pass and why would you when we weren't stopping the run so my hat goes off to them. They're well-coached and definitely deserve to be 15th ranked."
