2014 (Jr.): Played in 13 games, missing the Charlotte game due to injury ... Had 47 rushes for 491 yards with three touchdowns ... Capped the Monmouth win with a great individual performance, carrying the ball eight times in a 10-play drive and finishing the drive with a highlight-reel, 15-yard touchdown to give the Chants a 52-21 lead ... Johnson looked to be stopped twice on the run but shed eight tackles to reach the end zone ... Had a nine-yard touchdown to give CCU a 21-0 lead in the playoff win versus Richmond ... Finished the Richmond game with 13 carries for 58 yards, both season highs ... First career TD came in the season opener, a one-yard run to give CCU a 28-3 over The Citadel.
2013 (So.): Played in all 15 games and was standout on special teams ... Made 23 tackles with 13 coming on special teams (10 on kick coverage and three on punt coverage) ... Was named the team’s Special Teams MVP three times (Furman, Liberty and Presbyterian) ... Made a game-changing play on a fake punt at Liberty, taking a shovel pass from Austin Cain and gaining 25 yards to set up a Coastal Carolina touchdown ... Added four tackles — three solo — at Liberty ... Credited with five tackles —all solo — versus Presbyterian ... Named to the 2013-14 Big South Presidential Honor Roll for posting at least a 3.0 GPA for the academic year ... Earned Dean’s List for spring of 2104.
2012 (Fr.): Played in 11 games as a true freshman, missing the Appalachian State and Gardner-Webb games due to injury … Served as a backup to Mike McClure as well as serving on the special teams … Tallied four tackles on the season, including two solo stops at Presbyterian and two assists versus Charleston Southern … Named to the 2012-13 Big South Presidential Honor Roll for posting at least a 3.0 GPA for the academic year.
Prior to Coastal Carolina: Named Georgia Sports Writers Association Class AA honorable mention All-State ... Tabbed first team All-Area by Gainesville Times ... Had a team-best 869 yards rushing with 17 TDs through the Georgia AA quarterfinal round, seeing limited action during the regular season due to blow-out wins for Buford ... Played fullback and defensive end prior to his senior season, moving to linebacker as a senior ... Was high school teammate with current CCU quarterback Alex Ross ... Reached the Georgia AA title game as a senior, wining state championships as a junior and sophomore.
