In three seasons, Hazel ranks second on the CCU career lists for receptions (113), receiving yards (1563) and touchdown receptions (19) ... Needs 49 receptions to surpass Jerome Simpson (161) as the school's all-time leader.
2012 (Jr.): Named first team All-Big South ... Tied a CCU season record with 61 receptions ... Had 799 receiving yards - second on the season list ... Ranked third in the Big South in receptions per game (4.69) - 80th in the NCAA - and in receiving yards per game (61.46) - 77th in the NCAA ... Named the team's Offensive MVP for the Furman, Bethune-Cookman and Old Dominion contests ... Had a career game in the second round loss at Old Dominion, hauling in nine passes for 155 yards and two touchdowns ... The 155 yards ranks third on the CCU single-game list ... His TDs came on back-to-back possession in the second quarter, the second tied the game at 21-21 ... In the season opener, caught three passes for 57 yards, including a 33-yard TD ... At Furman, had a then career-high seven receptions with a then career-high 128 yards receiving (the 128 yards ranks 10th on the CCU single-game list) ... In clutch time, caught a 20-yard pass on CCU's final drive to help set-up a game-tying field goal as time expired ... In the first overtime, caught a 35-yard pass to the Furman one, setting up CCU's first score ... In the second overtime, caught a 25-yard TD ... In week three versus Eastern Kentucky, hauled in six passes for 63 yards, including a five-yard TD to make the score 21-14 to start the third quarter ... Hauled in six passes for 98 yards versus Stony Brook ... Caught a team-high six passes, gaining 67 yards, at Gardner-Webb and added six receptions for 78 yards with two TDs at Presbyterian the following week ... Made an impressive leaping catch for a 3-yard TD and to put Coastal up 14-0 at Bethune-Cookman.
2011 (So.): Named second team All-Big South ... Ranked third (second-best total) in the conference with six touchdown receptions, which is also fifth (tied) on the CCU single-season list ... Battled injuries, going two games without a catch but still ranked eighth in the Big South in receiving yards per game (44.4) and 10th in receptions per game (2.9) ... Averaged an impressive 15.2 yards per receptions, led Coastal in both receptions (32, seventh-tied on the CCU single-season list) and yards (488, sixth on the CCU single-season list) ... Prior to the injury and over a four-game span, had three games with six catches, including North Carolina A&T (92 yards and 2 TDs), Liberty (90 yards and TD) and Gardner-Webb (65 yards) ... Also threw a 21-yard touchdown pass versus Gardner-Webb ... Showed signs of getting back to full speed at season's end, catching four passes for 28 yards and a TD in the Charleston Southern win ... Had with two catches for 69 yards, including a career-long 59-yard TD in the win at Western Carolina.
2010 (Fr.): Missed the season opener at West Virginia due to illness, but played in the final 11 games, starting three of the final four ... Finished the season with 20 catches for 276 yards with five touchdowns ... His five TDs were fourth-best in the Big South and ranks seventh on the CCU single-season list ... In a win over Liberty, was named Big South Freshman of the Week as he tied a school record, previously set by Jerome Simpson in 2005, by catching three touchdown passes in a game - one shy of the Big South single-game record ... Finished the game with four receptions for 41 yards ... All four of his catches were significant as the three TD catches came on third down and his other catch was an 11-yarder giving Coastal a first down ... Had a breakout game versus Georgia Southern, hauling in four passes for 49 yards ... Only caught two passes at Presbyterian but one was a 26-yarder for his first career score ... Was a key target in the Western Illinois NCAA FCS playoff game, catching six passes for 66 yards --both season highs.
Prior to Coastal Carolina: Named to the 2009 Shrine Bowl squad representing South Carolina ... Also selected to the High School Sports Report's Statewide Offense All-State team after recording 75 catches, 1,193 receiving yards and 18 touchdowns as a senior while leading North Augusta to the second round of the playoffs ... Finalist for Aiken Standard High School Offensive Player of the Year.
